This Sunday evening, July 25th, at 6 PM, we will meet in the Worship Center to revisit our discussion on the Christian Legacy Academy (CLA).
As Pastor, I feel that we still have unanswered questions and a lack of clarity about what we are considering. This will not be a business meeting, but an information forum to speak or ask any question or express any concern that is still lingering. Dr. Hefley will not be present. It will be our Body coming together for further dialogue.
Last week we met for 2 1/2 hours with the pressure to vote. This week we will meet for 1 hour with no pressure to vote. In meeting with Phil Williams, chair of the VISION Team, and Dr. Hefley, founder and Director of CLA, we realize that bringing the information about the school to the church for a vote without time to process the information and pray before voting on it as a Body was not the wisest way to conduct the business of this major decision.
The church did vote to open this form of Christian Education. But it will be best for Dr. Hefley to do the ground work of securing workers and establishing the number of students that would be a part of this beginning program understanding that the opening is pending our approval as a church. She has two weeks to assemble the information.
In two weeks we will come together as a church with a full understanding where we are in our obligation and what the school would look like in its beginning. At that time we will re-vote whether to go on with the school or stop the process at this time. We must be cognoscente of what we are doing and spiritually ready as a Body to make this major decision and to retain our unity as Body of Christ (Eph. 4:1-6).
